A growing insurance/healthcare company is looking for a Sr. Business Systems Analyst to join its Information Services (IS) team in our New York, NY office. The Sr. Business Systems Analyst will help develop project scope documentation, detailed functional requirements and test plans, including defining all possible scenarios within a business process. The position requires developing a broad and deep understanding of the end-to end business and IS processes.
Responsibilities: Analyze business and system requirements, create data mappings, and document design specifications Define business and system solutions meeting business needs Analyze and document current business logic and processes Work closely with developers to explain and clarify design specifications and validate requirements; ensure business needs are being met and goals are being addressed Produce test plans and test scripts to perform system testing and validate requirements; coordinate user acceptance testing with appropriate staff Lead business requirements and technical analysis sessions with business users and technical staff; collect, document, and confirm business system requirements for various projects Lead the coordination of project activities between business users, technical staff, and external vendors Provide advanced application support for web based applications Troubleshoot complex issues, determining the best possible solutions and courses of action Research problems & solutions independently Perform other responsibilities as assigned Qualifications: Required Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience Minimum four (4) years of relevant experience as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Technical Analyst, or similar position in the IT field Minimum three (3) years of relevant experience in creating and implementing application test plans Working knowledge of SQL with an understanding of relational databases, system design, and experience creating and manipulating data Strong technical analysis and problem solving skills is a must Strong client support skills is essential Ability to work well in a team environment, meet deadlines and handle several projects simultaneously Ability to work independently and remotely Effective communication skills both verbal and written; ability to conduct technical discussions with non-technical staff Travel 10-20% Knowledge of PC hardware and Microsoft software Desired Knowledge of the healthcare industry (health insurance, and medical claims processing) Minimum of three (3) years of project management experience
